The purification works of gas washing-water from 2 converters of 120T of Panzhihua Iron & Steel Group

It was formally put into operation in April 2004. The installations treat sewage of 1120m3/h with suspended soild of SS≤8000~16000mg/L at inlet, the pH value at 7-12, backwater temperature at 50-65℃ in general. For the treatment process, according to the characteristics of the gas –washing water and property of particle-size distribution, the following advanced and reliable sedimentation method of two steps is used: for the 1st step, 2 sets of coarse particle separators are used to remove the suspended solids with particle diameter bigger than 60 μm in the washing water; for step 2, 14 high efficient inclined-pipe gunbarrels are used mainly to remove suspended solids of more than 10μm in diameter in the washing water. The installarions mainly include 14 high efficient inclined-pipe gunbarrels, 2 new type of coarse particle separators, 1 piece/set of allocation wells and 3 concentrating sedimentation tanks. The sysyem process occupied an area of 1202 m2. Since the operation, the suspended solids in effluent-water are stable at SS ≤ 50~80mg/L. The moisture content of sludge to be discharged may be controlled at 75 to 80% according to requirement. The running practice shows: since the project was put into operation untill today, it runs stably and reliably with good resistance to big impact load, simple operation and no maintenance. For the technological process including sludge discharge, automation is realized with friendly man-machine interface, amount of drug dosed 10% less than it is if the traditional ramp-plate sedimentation tank is used. No-man-operation and intelligentizing of sludge discharge are basically realized. The sewage generated by the entire process is in a complete closed circuit. It is in accorddance with the development direction of clean and energy-saving industry of China's metallurgical enterprises.
